Assessment
Alexa reviews the area, hair color, skin readiness, treatment history, recent sun exposure and health history.
Prepare
Shave the area before your visit as instructed, and arrive with clean skin, without heavy lotions or oils on the area. Avoid waxing, tweezing or plucking, so the follicle stays in place.
Treatment
The LongPulse laser treats the area with settings chosen for your skin and hair. You may feel heat, snapping or prickling.
Series
Sessions are scheduled as a series by area, growth cycle and response. Maintenance may be recommended.

What laser hair removal is
Light energy that targets hair follicles over a timed series.
Laser hair removal uses targeted light energy to heat hair follicles during active growth phases. The energy is absorbed by pigment in the follicle. Follicles move through growth cycles, so several visits are needed to treat hairs when they are most responsive. Over a properly timed series, it may reduce hair growth, improve smoothness and cut down on shaving, waxing and plucking, and it may help guests who get razor bumps or ingrown hairs. Settings, skin type, hair color, recent sun exposure and timing all matter, not just the device.

Sometimes waiting is safer
Recent tanning or sunburn, an active rash, open lesions, infection or irritation, recent aggressive exfoliation, a compromised skin barrier or photosensitizing medications can mean delaying treatment. Deeper skin types may need added caution, conservative settings or another plan. Alexa or our team may postpone or decline treatment when it is not the safest option at that visit. We would rather delay a treatment than ignore a risk factor.

Aftercare
Protect the area from sun and heat after each session.
Follow the instructions Alexa gives you for your skin and area. General aftercare often includes avoiding sun exposure and using sun protection; avoiding heat, hot tubs, saunas and intense exercise for the advised period; not picking, scrubbing or irritating the treated area; and keeping to the timing for your next session.
