Hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, is a broad term for using prescribed hormones to address a clinically appropriate hormone need. BHRT is short for bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Bioidentical hormone restoration generally refers to hormones chemically identical to those the body makes. Clinical review, not the term, decides candidacy and dose. We use bioidentical compounded hormones, which are not FDA-approved.

Hormone therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Cancer history, clotting risk, uncontrolled conditions, lab findings, medications and other factors may affect candidacy. Hormone restoration may be inappropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your provider will review risks, benefits, and alternatives before treatment.

Hormone restoration is not a weight-loss medication. When weight is the main goal, provider-guided medical weight loss may be the better first step.

If clinical review shows hormone therapy is not appropriate, hormone medication is not started. You may be advised to see primary care, gynecology, endocrinology or another qualified provider, or guided to a different Eternal wellness or weight-loss pathway.

When you are approved, a specialized hormone provider in the BRITE-supported network handles prescribing, dose adjustment and ongoing management, and you reach that provider through the BRITE app. The Eternal MedSpa team keeps monitoring and supporting you in the clinic.
