What wrinkle relaxers are
Neuromodulators that relax a targeted muscle, so the line it makes softens.
Botox, Daxxify, Dysport, Xeomin and Letybo are neuromodulators. Each relaxes a targeted muscle for a few months so the line it makes softens. You choose how much expression to keep: very soft, moderate or stronger smoothing.
Wrinkle relaxer candidacy and risks
A health history, a medication review and an assessment come first.

Adults bothered by movement lines or heavy sweating, after assessment.

Neuromuscular conditions, allergies, recent procedures, current medications.
Sometimes no is safer

Common effects
Pinpoint marks or tenderness at injection sites clear quickly. Bruising is possible with any injectable treatment.

Wrinkle relaxers do not add volume, lift skin or fill lips.

Aftercare

How many units of Botox will I need?
How many units of Botox or another wrinkle relaxer you need depends on the area, your muscle strength, your history and how much movement you want to keep. A first frown-line treatment often uses about 20 units, and your provider gives you the number before treatment.
Is Letybo weaker because it costs less?
Letybo is not weaker because it costs less. It is a newer neuromodulator at a lower unit price, and placement, dose and provider judgment drive the result.
How long does Botox take to work, and how long does it last?
Botox and other wrinkle relaxers start to work in a few days, and full effect is judged at about two weeks. Results usually last three to four months; product, dose, muscle strength and metabolism all affect it.
Will I look frozen after Botox?
Botox does not have to look frozen. Your provider sets the dose to the amount of movement you want to keep.
Botox or filler: which do I need?
Botox and other wrinkle relaxers treat movement lines. Filler treats volume, structure, lips and folds. Many guests use both in a staged plan.
How far ahead of an event should I get Botox?
Get a first Botox or wrinkle relaxer treatment three to four weeks before an event, and maintenance two to three weeks before. If the date is close, text us first.
Can Botox help with heavy sweating (hyperhidrosis)?
Botox and other wrinkle relaxers can reduce heavy sweating in a treated area, such as the underarms or back, for months at a time. Botox is FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating; other areas are off-label and decided with your provider.
Can I get Botox while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. We do not treat guests who are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding.
